Abstract
Introduction. The presented scientific article presents a comparative analysis of the study of motives, needs and interests in the field of physical culture and sports of student youth of Ukraine and the People's Republic of China. The purpose of the study is to investigate the motivation of student youth of Ukraine and the People's Republic of China for various types and forms of physical culture and health activities, the peculiarities of their interests and value orientations in the field of physical culture and sports. Material and methods. They took part in a scientific experiment st-year students of the National Aviation University (90 respondents, including 40 girls and 50 boys) and students of Xichang University (PRC) (100 respondents, including 50 boys and 50 girls). To solve the tasks, theoretical research methods and questionnaires were used. The purpose of the article is to investigate the motives, needs and interests in the field of physical culture and sports of student youth of Ukraine and the People's Republic of China. According to the results of the study, it was found that at the basis of the value-motivational sphere of physical culture and sports of students of the People's Republic of China and Ukraine there are both common and significantly different priorities. The results of the survey revealed the indifferent attitude of the majority of Ukrainian students to physical education classes in higher education institutions, which leads to frequent skipping of classes (about 60% of students), the lack of their own target instruction in the process of these classes, apart from receiving a credit in the discipline.For students of the People's Republic of China, improving their own physical fitness, obtaining a credit in physical education and increasing motor activity are priority motives for attending physical education classes. Conclusions. The system of motives for physical education and sports, which is formed on the basis of the needs and interests of student youth, directs the individual to self-improvement and stimulates physical activity
