Self-development of the personality of future teachers of physical education in the process of learning through the formation of their professional competence

Abstract

Introduction. The article highlights the problem of forming the professional competence of future physical culture teachers in the process of professional training and the self-development of the student's personality in the process of learning, reveals the essence of the concept of «professional competence», outlines the features of the process of training future physical culture teachers for lifelong professional self-improvement. Goal. Highlighting scientific views on the formation of professional competence of future teachers of physical culture in the process of studying at universities and preparing them for professional self-improvement throughout their lives. Methods. Analysis and systematization of psychological-pedagogical and scientific-methodical literature and information resources of the Internet; abstraction, logical-theoretical analysis, historical analysis, systematic approach, forecasting. The results. The application of the competence approach to the professional training of future teachers of physical education makes it possible to achieve such a final result of education, which can be considered as the formation of professional competences in the graduate as a unity of generalized knowledge and skills, universal readiness to solve social and professional tasks, which determine the possession of a proper professional activities at a high level, readiness for innovations in the professional field. Conclusions. The professional competence of physical education teachers is, in fact, a complex of personal capabilities (knowledge, abilities, skills, creative activity, communication skills), possession of relevant competencies. In the process of professional training of physical culture teachers, a significant role belongs to the formation of a conscious readiness for continuous selfdevelopment, creative self-realization and professional self-improvement throughout life
