Abstract
Introduction. The underestimated tourist potential of the «Catholic wall» of medieval Kamianets-Podilskyi is revealed, which is a series of Catholic churches and monasteries built on the western slope of the Old Town in the 16th-18th centuries, which, when entering it through the Castle Bridge, form as if «Catholic facade», which during the Middle Ages played the role of propaganda in favor of the Polish authorities and the Roman Catholic Church, but now for the development of Ukrainian tourism it is a unique collection of objects of medieval fortress-sacred construction, most of which are well preserved and still have an explanation in the form of historical tables with Latin inscriptions. The goal is to reveal the tourist potential of the «Catholic wall» of medieval Kamianets- Podilskyi. Research methods: analysis, systematization and generalization of field research data, as well as literary sources, comparative analysis. Research results. The data on the sacral and defensive objects of medieval architecture in National History and Architectoral Reserve «Kamyanets» that make up the «Catholic Wall» are presented. Together with Latin inscriptions on historical tables, these objects represent a valuable tourist resource, interesting for both Ukrainian and foreign, in particular Polish, tourists. It is noted how the Polish king Stefan Batory, whose name is listed in the historical table from the 18th century, distinguished himself for the development of the Ukrainian Cossacks and Ukrainian Podillia. on the tower of the same name. It is proposed to create a Podillya regional military-historical museum in this tower. Conclusions. The "Catholic Wall" of medieval Kamianets-Podilskyi is a valuable resource for attracting Ukrainian and foreign, in particular Polish, tourists. This value is enhanced by the presence of authentic historical inscriptions on its objects in Latin, which are well preserved from the 16th-18th centuries. The creation of a regional military-historical museum on this basis is a relevant proposal in the modern conditions of a full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine
