Abstract

Introduction. Regular physical activity of a child is a key condition for their harmonious development and good health. Unfortunately, the current conditions in our country do not allow to fully realize the potential for sufficient physical activity of children and youth who are restricted by the conditions of distance learning during the wartime. These conditions raise numerous questions about how to improve the existing situation and involve children and youth in quality physical education classes. An effective means of addressing these issues is to apply elements of sports dancing during physical education classes, as one of the sports of interest to children. This article discusses the use of elements of sports dancing in the physical education of senior school children in the context of distance learning, provides a model of a physical education class incorporating elements of sports dancing, and identifies organizational and methodological conditions for the use of sports dancing elements in the physical education of senior school students. Research Objective: To scientifically justify the use of elements of sports dancing in the physical education of senior school children during the period of distance learning. Research Methods: Theoretical analysis and synthesis of data from scientific and methodological literature, surveys, pedagogical testing, psychodiagnostics methods, mathematical statistics methods. Research Results: The research revealed that the use of elements of sports dancing in the physical education of senior school children contributes to: increasing motivation of children for physical education classes in the conditions of distance learning; improving their cognitive performance, mood, and enhancing coordination abilities, strength, and flexibility. Conclusions: in the conditions of distance learning, the issue of engaging senior school children in physical education classes becomes relevant. An effective means of addressing this issue is to apply elements from sports that children are interested in. Survey results indicate that girls of 16-17 years old are interested in various types of fitness and dancing, making the use of elements of sports dancing an effective method for involving them in regular physical education classes during distance learning. The results of the pedagogical experiment showed that the use of elements of sports dancing during physical education classes in the context of distance learning for senior school girls improved their mood, allowing them to maintain a more positive outlook on life, find inner strength to overcome difficulties, and reduce the levels of negative emotions that accompany children of different ages in the modern conditions of wartime. It also improved the attention span of high school girls, contributing to the enhancement of their cognitive performance and increasing their levels of coordination abilities, strength, and flexibility
