Abstract
Introduction. Motivation to physical culture and its purposeful formation is an urgent problem of the present, in the formulation of which it is possible to distinguish philosophical, pedagogical, medical, physiological and other aspects of the study. The formation of motivation depends not only on objective but also on subjective factors, level of consciousness and general culture of a person. The purpose of the work: to determine approaches to the formation of motivation for physical education of student youth. Materials and methods: 100 students of the National University of Ukraine on Physical Education and Sport, studying in the specialty 227 Physical therapy and occupational therapy, took part in the pedagogical experiment. To solve the tasks, the following methods were used: theoretical analysis and generalization of data from scientific and methodical literature; survey; methods of mathematical statistics. Results: the survey allowed us to determine the main motivational priorities of students in choosing physical activity, as well as factors that prevent regular exercise. In the course of the survey, a system of approaches was also determined, which will contribute to the formation of students' motivation for systematic physical education. Conclusions: identification of the main motivational priorities is necessary in the organization of the process of physical education. It also acts as a factor that will help to determine the conscious attitude of students to physical education, to form the need for daily exercise, to promote physical and professional excellence, to create prerequisites for the organization of a positive communicative environment, as well as a positive emotional status
