Abstract
Introduction. The relevance of the research topic lies in the need to improve the physical fitness and mental stamina of soldiers, not only young men, but also military girls, since this is of the greatest practical importance. The success of overcoming obstacles, throwing a grenade at a target, carrying a load, mastering a weapon and controlling military equipment primarily depends on the strength capabilities of soldiers, and the ability to conduct hand-to-hand combat can be formed precisely by means of boxing. The purpose of the study is to experimentally test the effect of boxing on the physical fitness of female students of pedagogical institutions of higher education. Research methods: theoretical analysis and generalization of data from scientific and methodological literature; pedagogical observations and experiments; testing the physical fitness of students; methods of mathematical statistics. Research results. The implemented method of boxing was based on the study of the gender characteristics of female students, their physical capabilities, took into account the following methodological provisions: reasonable planning and orientation of the educational process; the unity of the theoretical, methodological and practical training of female students, taking into account their state of health; available level of loads during boxing; acquiring motor skills and mastering the technique of boxing physical exercises; ensuring a high level of female students' motivation for boxing; introduction of innovative technologies in the educational process; a combination of collective and individual physical culture and sports activities of female students. Conclusions. Comparative analysis of the dynamics of physical readiness of female students of the experimental and control groups made it possible to determine a high level of statistical probability of improving results, which is due to both the specifics of boxing means and the conscientious fulfillment of educational and training tasks by female students of the experimental group. The data obtained indicate that the majority of the subjects, performing boxing exercises both in physical culture classes and outside of school hours, ensured the development of basic physical qualities, increased the functionality of the body, and experienced satisfaction from such exercises
