Abstract
Introduction. The underestimated tourist potential of Kyiv-Podil, as the uncrowned capital of Hetman Ukraine of the XVII-XVIII centuries, is revealed, in particular, as a «reserve» of Ukrainian sacred architecture – churches and monasteries in the Ukrainian (Cossack, Mazepyn) Baroque style. The contribution of the Hetmans of Ukraine Samiyl Kishka and Petro Konashevich-Sahaidachny to the development of medieval Kyiv-Podil, in particular its church architecture, is shown. The need for a more complete use of the unique tourist resources of Kyiv-Podil in tourism and excursion activities in the city of Kyiv is emphasized. The goal is to determine the tourist potential of the sacred architecture of Kyiv-Podil of the XVIIXVIII centuries. Research methods: analysis, systematization and generalization of data from literary sources; comparative analysis. Research results. Data are provided on the architectural monuments of Kyiv-Podil, which for several centuries (XVI-XVIII centuries) became the largest cultural, educational and religious center of Ukraine. This study examines the administrative-sacred division of Podil, which until the end of the XIX century. performed the functions of the magistrate of Kyiv. Issues related to the state activities of the hetmans of Ukraine Samiil Kishka (1530-1602), Peter Konashevich Sahaidachny (1582-1622), as well as their contribution to the development of medieval Kyiv-Podil are also covered.. Conclusions. Ukrainian (Cossack, Mazepyn) Baroque is now attracting increasing interest and recognition not only among connoisseurs of architecture, but also among Ukrainian and foreign tourists. Therefore, Kyiv-Podil, as a «reserve» of Ukrainian churches in this style, should become a mandatory component of tourist routes and excursions in Kyiv, which is especially relevant in the modern conditions of a full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine
